Eric y. lapointe

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Eric Y. Lapointe, is the President & Founder of And Now Global, BC's newest TV distribution company, and the Board Chairperson of the Vancouver Web Fest. Formerly of Montreal, Lapointe spent over 15 years in international marketing & distribution sales; including 3 years at Just For Laughs and 9 years at Cirque du Soleil.

At Just For Laughs, Lapointe was responsible for the distribution & licensing rights to television channels and platforms in over 100 countries. His role included driving the company's global digital video strategy for social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat. This included the launch of "Just For Labs", an in-house incubator for new digital content, which developed 90+ new comedy video clips. At Cirque du Soleil, Lapointe introduced the company's content onto VOD platforms including iTunes, Google Play and Hulu where a branded Cirque channel was launched.

Prior to getting his feet wet in television, Lapointe started his career by building his own indie record label, Grenadine Records, which helped launch the careers of The Dears, Shy Child and Alexis O'Hara. For fun, he played drums and toured across Canada in the bands Biffy Perdu and Nightwood and wrote a blog about discovering his Montreal neighbourhood. It his curiosity in people, places, projects and on-going interest to create that drives his career.

If I had a superpower, it would be meeting people and networking. This is what I love to do most. Here I am with my Slovakian client from Markiza after we closed a deal together at MIPCOM.
